Chant Libre

Chant Libre embodies the evolution of theatre for children. This clever title plays on the French expression champ libre (free rein) and evokes freedom of expression through song, the central theme of the show. It skilfully blends puppetry, music and acting in an innovative plural writing. This creation is an indoor adaptation of Oooh Teresina, which has accumulated over 500 performances.

Léandre, with his accordion, creates a living musical dialogue that punctuates the action, underlines emotions and invites the audience to sing about love and freedom, enriching the sensory experience of young spectators. The controlled acoustics of the venue allow full appreciation of the subtleties of the musical composition.

Polichinelle, manipulated with a technique combining tradition and modernity, interacts with Léandre, blurring the stage boundaries. Their relationship, centred on Polichinelle's love for Teresina, explores primary emotions, resonating deeply with the audience. The indoor configuration highlights Anastasia's technical precision and manipulation virtuosity.

The stripped-back and adaptable staging creates a unique proximity with the spectators. The show, in constant evolution, is inspired by audience reactions, addressing with finesse the themes of love, animality and authority. LED stage lighting, specially designed for the booth, provides optimal visual reading of each sequence.

This approach, nourished by research into puppet arts, offers several levels of reading. Chant Libre is part of the renewal of arts for childhood, combining artistic rigour and accessibility. The show also offers educational workshops, extending the experience beyond the performance.
